The annual Solent First Ball tournament held at the league's home diamonds on Tangier Field in Portsmouth took place this weekend.

The Vikings were out in full force on a gloriously sunny spring day. We started the day in surprising fashion, beating the league champions Itchen Knicks 10-3 in our opening game. Solid defensive work saw us move to 3-0 on the day in the group stage with big wins over fellow Div2 teams, the Pirates and Sharks.

The good fortune was not to last however, as after guaranteeing a Gold Semi-final place we lost to the Div1 Portsmouth Dodgers to finish 2nd in our group.

In the Semi-Final, we could not match the offensive production of the Solent Sluggers and our journey ended there for the day.

The league fixtures are next in what looks like an exciting 2025 season.
