Saturday 21st March
The traditional curtain raiser for the Solent season took place at Fareham Leisure centre for the annual Charity indoor tournament. This season saw 10 teams take part raising money for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. The Vikings were able to take away the Silver final trophy last season by defeating the Southsea Sharks; could we go one better this year?

It was a repeat of the final to kick the day off, with the Sharks unable to avenge their loss a year prior: the Vikings coming away with a narrow 34-31 win.
The Krakens were dispatched convincingly 42-24 next as we went 2-0 against the two Division Two teams in our group.

A narrow 21-20 win over the favoured Portsmouth Dodgers set up a final group game against the Solent Sluggers with both teams undefeated at 3-0 on the day. Effectively a mini-final to see which final each team would appear in, a closely contested affair finished 33-31 to the Sluggers.
The Vikings ended the day in the Silver final, facing the Chichester Falcons Red team (their Blue team made, and won, the Gold final). Some great play on both sides of the ball saw us take the victory 28-22.

The day was a huge success in terms of charitable action however, with almost £1000 raised in support of this year's charity.
